The OAK-D-SR emphasizes improved short-range accuracy when compared to the standard OAK-D. To ensure the best accuracy, it's recommended to keep the depth measurement range of the OAK-D-SR between 30cm to 1m. It's perfect for applications that require close-in depth and detail, such as quality control or automated manufacturing, and will prove especially valuable for mounting on robots or picking arms.
The OAK-D-SR leverages our OAK-SoM-Pro to make a compact overall design. The use of the SoM reduces the overall design's scale, making it easier to mount or fit in various robotic processes. The design is also open-sourced, allowing for all necessary modifications.
For a smooth getting started experience with the USB camera, we recommend following USB deployment guide.

Stereo depth perception
This OAK camera has a baseline of 2 cm - the distance between the left and the right stereo camera. Minimal and maximal depth perception (MinZ and Max) depends on camera FOV, resolution, and baseline- more information here.
- Ideal range: 30cm - 100cm
- MinZ: 20cm (800P)
- MaxZ: ~3 meters with a variance of 10%
Note that if you don’t need accurate depth perception below 70cm this OAK camera might not be ideal for your application. See the depth accuracy.
Features
Status LEDThe camera is equipped with a single state status LED that indicates when the pipeline is running. Depending on the specific camera model and production batch, the LED may be either green or yellow.
Integrated IMUThis OAK camera has an integrated BNO085, a 9-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). See IMU node for the API details on how to use it.
Power and connectivity
ConnectivityCamera offers USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen1, 5 Gbps) for power and connectivity.
Power consumptionMost of the power is consumed by the RVC2, so the power consumption mostly depends on the workload of the VPU:
- Base consumption + camera streaming: 2.5W - 3W
- AI subsystem consumption: Up to 1W
- Stereo depth pipeline subsystem: Up to 0.5W
- Video Encoder subsystem: Up to 0.5W
So the total power consumption can be up to ~5W if you are using all the features at 100% at the same time. To reduce the power consumption, you can reduce FPS of the whole pipeline - that way, subsystems won’t be utilized at 100% and will consume less power.
Operating characteristics
TemperatureThe ambient operating temperature of RVC2 based devices is between -20°C and 50°C when fully utilizing the VPU. To find out more, see our operating temperature range documentation.
